Summary

The present book is a collection of verses about some elements of the nature that we call here Gaia, such as trees, mountains, ants, as well as places that were visited by the Author. It is written from the point of view of an Engineer that attempts to describe the beauty that we all have been gifted with – the surrounded nature, called by the Greeks as Gaia, or by the Incas Pacha-Mama. The content of this book was first published in Cairo on 2012, a second version followed in 2014.

Some people call you Gaia
Others Maya or Pacha Mama

You are perceived with the spirit of a Woman
Because you carry beauty inside you That reproduces the seed
Like the female, the semen
That lets the water flow
Like the milk from the mother
That lets the rain fall
Like when Eva sheds tears of joy

You are perceived with the appearance of a woman
Because you display your beauty on the outside
That manifests itself
In the colors of the flowers and their exuberant fragrance
In the sweet and tasty fruits
In the songs of the forests and the birds

No, I do not know your name,
But I know that behind you stands
The same goodness that gave man
His limbs and organs to breath and walk
His brain and senses to think and understand
His bright heart to love and forgive
It is the same goodness
That allows mankind
To create harmonious tunes from the harp, violin and the flute
To put a beautiful drawing or a free verse on a blank page
To carve soft forms from the hard rock
It is the same goodness
That enabled mankind to acquire knowledge
And when added to love, wisdom
To free himself from the enslaving ego
To be grateful receiving more affection and less materials
To disagree with the Mind and appreciate the person behind

Yes, I perceive a Great Creator behind you
I do not know your name
Yet I know you are a gift to mankind,
I do accept the gift and pass it onto others.

WORDS FROM THE AUTHOR – Updated on June 2020, Third Edition

Nearly 7 years have passed since the last version of this book was printed. Interestingly the verses of the prior version were a kind of passed to me in some nights where I had to wake up to write them – it appeared that there was less interference during those hours. During the present days of forced quarantine due to the Covid-19 the skies are clearer and maybe also the interference is less, so I was tempted to put some more hours to add few lines related to the current situation. How can we interpret what is occurring now and take the learnings so it does not reoccur in the future? In the introduction of the book we share about few humble reflections on this. In another book called “The Gift of Gaia”, we share about a preventive method based on natural components to support relief from the Covid-19 at the early stages preventing its worsening. It does not replace the medical treatment, rather it supports it.

Life is about thriving not surviving, like any other living being our purpose is to flourish and evolve, not to perish. Our drive for freedom, justice and compassion is built in our DNA, therefore I resist accepting that hatred and evil dominate this world because the human being at its core is kind, creative and loving, since we have been made in the image and likeness of our Creator. As Bob Marley said, “Emancipate yourself from mental slavery, none but our self can free our minds, have no fear …” Yes, have no fears because we are not alone, we do not need to belong to any party or country to Imagine how peaceful and beautiful this world could be, for our own generation and the comming ones. Our future is bright if we pull in the same direction towards aligning with Gaia. I hope you enjoy reading these Verses of gratitude for Gaia. I see Gaia as a great piece of art, a life enabler and another gift of a magnificent Designer, our Creator therefore the title: “Gaia The Gift”.
